It’s no secret that two of the most popular Royal family members are Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duke of Cambridge is the firstborn of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, who was loved by many, making him an instant favorite of the public.
Adding Kate Middleton to his journey to the throne, Prince William’s popularity grew even stronger. The Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t born Royal, but she is every bit of a Princess that everyone adores.
Kate Middleton is beautiful and elegant with a twist. While most public figures wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the same outfit, the 37-year-old was never afraid of doing this “fashion suicide.” This attitude made the Duchess of Cambridge more relatable to the common people, making her one of their favorite Royal family members of all time.
With that said, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been bombarded by photographers for years, knowing that every scoop about them will earn them big money. But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge still set their boundaries without having to compromise their Royal duties.
Angela Levin, author of Conversations with the Prince, previously shared that during the generation of the Queen and Prince Charles, they prefer being followed by photographers anywhere they went. But for this generation of Royals, like Prince William and Kate Middleton, “they don’t want that. They will give their best duty, but they don’t want to be pestered otherwise,” she said.
However, Royal photographer Ian Lloyd claims that Prince William and Kate Middleton will soon be desperate for press coverage. “I think they have to remember in 20-years time when they are in their late 40’s or early 50’s or whatever it is; they will desperate for the press coverage because the press coverage will have moved on to other people. In 20-years time when they launch a crusade like this, mental health and so on, the press won’t be interested, because they go for the more photogenic ones,” he said.
Ian Lloyd then went on to share his experiences with the Queen, Princess Anne, Fergie, and even Princess Diana. But Angela Levin pointed out that Prince William, Kate Middleton, and also Prince Harry know the importance of the press, but they only want to use it to promote a cause and nothing more.
