The “Bottle Cap Challenge” is one of those recent challenges that became a hit on social media. Unlike other dangerous challenges out there, the “Bottle Cap Challenge” is quite harmless. However, it is not that easy to do.
The “Bottle Cap Challenge” got its start in the world of Mixed Martial Arts, but it quickly crossed over to pop culture and took over our social media feeds. All you have to do to succeed the challenge is to unscrew the cap from a water bottle with a single roundhouse kick. Seems easy? Wait until you try it.
And since the “Bottle Cap Challenge” has been on everybody’s lips, the BTS members learned about it and decided to try it out. During Episode 85 of Run BTS!, V invited Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook to participate in the viral craze.
The 23-year-old singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor explained what the challenge is all about to his members. Some of the boys then willingly gave it a shot.
First up was Jimin. No surprise here, because he has a black belt in Taekwondo and expert-level coordination. Since the challenge started from MMA, it only makes sense that one of the practitioners of the sport would try the “Bottle Cap Challenge” out.
V held the water bottle while J-Hope was holding his phone to capture the moment. Jimin started with the usual Roundhouse kick stance, looking very confident and determined to succeed in the challenge.
With his Taekwondo experience, Jimin perfectly executed his kick. However, he was too powerful that he didn’t only take the cap off, but the whole bottle flew from V’s grasps. V looked shocked and scared at the same time. (Check out the clips here and here).
Next up was golden maknae and Mr. Competitive Jungkook. The 21-year-old singer, songwriter and record producer is also a black belt holder, so the members had high hopes.
This time, Jimin held the bottle for Jungkook’s turn. Knowing that the water bottle could easily fly off like what happened earlier, he made sure to have a tight grip. J-Hope was still capturing the whole thing with his phone.
Just like Jimin, Jungkook also did a roundhouse kick. This time, however, he had more control. With that said, the youngest member of the group managed to complete the challenge successfully. The rest of the BTS boys all gasped in amazement. (Check out the clips here and here).
Last but not least was V. Unlike Jimin and Jungkook, V doesn’t have the MMA background to do the roundhouse kick. He tried to complete the challenge by doing the normal front kick, but it looked like he was swatting a fly with his foot. The rest of the boys then burst into laughter after he miserably failed the challenge. (Check out the clip here.)
