Rapper Sleepy opened up about a dispute with his former company, TS Entertainment. Now, Sleepy and TS have announced a breakup in court recently, but their positions on compensation are sharply changing.
Sleepy said on September 23 at Sports Seoul on the phone, "I wanted to say more than this, but I tried to deliver only the facts."
Sleepy filed an application for discontinuance of the exclusive contract in May and insisted that "I could not trust the company any longer because they did not provide settlement data." TS replied, "We provided the settlement data and paid the settlement on the exact date." The court accepted the company's objection and dismissed Sleepy's application.
Regardless of the provisional result, Sleepy and TS agreed to break up accepting the court's mediation in a lawsuit filed in a civil hearing in Seoul's Western District Court last August. TS agreed to terminate the exclusive contract with Sleepy, but said it would file a lawsuit for damages, saying there was a suspicion of embezzlement.
In response, Sleepy appealed to injustice and announced plans for a lawsuit for damages. "They said they would file lawsuits against other celebrities but did not carry out in the end. This was their scheme to destroy artists' images and I will not stand this." "This time, I am going to file a lawsuit for damages," added the rapper.
"I thought about this a lot although many around me tried to stop me," said he. "There is an amount in conflict because the date of termination of the contract is asserted differently by both parties. It's a four to six month fee and that's big for me. We need to be clear about it."
Sleepy released a new song 'Dispute' with frustrating emotion. On September 21st, MBC 'Show! Music Center', he went on stage with Liquor and JD to tell his story.
The rapper said, "I was very nervous. Then I decided to let it all go. The lawsuit is not good and it is a negative image, but the former agency has already tarnished my image with embezzlement charges. I released it with courage, but when I post on Instagram or when I go to the station, I'm really afraid and tremendously trembling."
Finally, he expected, "I want to open everything and start over again."
