Paul McCartney of the Beatles has mentioned the group BTS.
McCartney appeared on CBS talk show 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' on September 24.
During the talk, host Colbert asked Paul McCartney, "Do you know Korean pop band BTS?" and Paul McCartney replied, "Yes." Colbear described BTS as "They're the biggest hit on the planet right now." Paul McCartney replied, "I heard about them."
The production team then introduced to Paul McCartney a video clip that BTS previously appeared in 'The Late Show.' BTS performed, 'Boy With Luv' on a stage that echoes Beatles of the 21st century. Colbert asked, "Is there a favorite song of Beatles?" and they replied immediately, 'Hey Jude', and sang on the stage.
Paul McCartney smiled as he watched BTS sing 'Hey Jude' to the live accompaniment of 'The Late Show' band. This scene attracted a big topic through social network service (SNS) right after the broadcast.
'The Late Show' is the flagship program of CBS, which currently ranks first in ratings among US talk shows. There have been various guest appearances including politicians, singers and actors such as Hillary Clinton, Lady Gaga and Ryan Reynolds. It drew attention as BTS was mentioned to Paul McCartney who is legendary in the pop world.
BTS returned home after the shooting in overseas, and is ready for the concert in Saudi Arabia on October 11.
