BTS member Jungkook has once again shown off his Midas touch. The BTS main vocalist has sold out a shirt he wore during his special appearance in J-Hope's recent V Live session, and he did it in just 30 minutes.
Jungkook made an impressive feat under his name but for the benefit of a clothing brand. The K-pop idol had sold out a shirt that he wore when he did the "Chicken Noodle Soup" challenge at J-Hope V Live.
The shirt is being sold on Korean e-commerce sites and costs between 85,540 and 94,000 won (between $72 and $78). It also sold out on the official website of BUYMA in Japan.
A few days earlier, the BTS member also sold out on a luxury brand site called Farfetch the Neil Barrett print shirt that he wore during the summer package shoot of BTS. The shirt reportedly costs $537.
The cute hoodie by VETEMENTS that Jungkook wore on the same pictorial was sold out as well on the online store of a Japanese fashion boutique. It is worth almost $700.
BTS Jungkook is among the members of the Korean group that is known to have the power to sell out whatever he wears, uses, touches, or just even mention. In July, the BTS maknae revealed the fabric softener that he uses, and soon after, the product has been sold out on major Korean e-commerce websites. Aside from shirts and fabric softener, Jungkook had also caused some stores to run out of stock of modern Korean hanbok, toothbrush, lip balm, and more.
Speaking of fashion brands, BTS has been sporting the most costly outfits in every event they attend to or projects they do. But, most of the time, they wear clothes that they want. BTS is not like any other K-pop idols who are getting paid to wear outfits and accessories in events.
It has been reported that BTS has several endorsement deals but, when it comes to their outfit, the group doesn't carry a specific brand except in 2015 when they were dressed by Puma. There have been reports that many luxury brands have been offering the group lucrative sponsorship deals, but the group refused to be tied up with one brand only.
Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, reportedly, value their freedom to wear whatever brand they want and decide based on their individual preferences and fashion styles. Chosun Biz (via Koreaboo) quoted one fashion industry insider as saying that many luxury fashion brands can't do anything about BTS's decision but to hope that the members will one day choose to wear their clothes.
