Meghan Markle graces the cover of Tatler magazine's anniversary issue, which she didn't do when she guest-edited Vogue's September issue. After she has been criticized for the previous publication she worked on, the Duchess of Sussex receives praises for bringing a breath of fresh air to the royal palaces.
Tatler editor-in-chief Richard Dennen has nothing but praises for Megan when he launched the magazine's 310th anniversary cover. He commended her style choices and even courage in life, per Express.
"It was fascinating delving into the archives for this anniversary issue and seeing how the cast of characters has changed," Dennen said. "Dynasties rise and fall, new money sashays in, celebrities of the day dazzle."
Dennen added that, as every generation has its own struggles, it is good to be on the right side of history. With Meghan's unique background, he believed Prince Harry's wife had been a positive force for change in the royal family. She also bravely breaks the mould in the royal palaces.
For that, Dennen continuously praised Meghan for being fabulous, independent, and not afraid of doing things on her own way. He also applauded her chic, sophisticated, and grown-up fashion choices and the way she brings a breath of California air to the "drab and dusty corridors" of the palace.
These praises are the total opposite of what Meghan experienced when she became British Vogue's guest editor in September, Insider noted. Unlike on Tatler, the mother of one didn't grace the cover of the magazine. Instead, it featured 15 inspirational women including climate change activist Greta Thunberg, who the former actress believed to be the "Forces for Change."
Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful revealed that Meghan Markle decided not to appear on the cover because it would have been a "boastful thing" to do for the project. Even before they began working on the magazine, they already discussed if she would be on the cover or not.
Meghan Markle felt like it would be kind of boastful if she would be on the cover, as she wanted to focus more on the women she admired. Some said it was a subtle shade to her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who appeared on the Vogue cover and 10-page shoot for its centenary issue in June 2016. Anyhow, it was the first and only magazine shoot Prince William's wife did.
There have been swirling rumors that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have a rift since the former officially became a part of the royal family last year. However, their Wimbledon outing seemed to indicate that they have a good relationship.
