Despite the rumors surrounding Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, there are reports that the two duchesses' alleged rift are now over after Prince Harry's wife gave birth to their first child. The future Queen Consort is said to be the former actress' great source of support ever since her pregnancy ended.

Now that they have something in common -- motherhood, Kate and Meghan managed to overcome their differences. The birth of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May, reportedly, paved the way for the two princes' wives to become closer than ever.

A source told Hello! magazine, via Express, that, when Archie was born, it helped Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's difficult relationship to "evolve into something else." "Kate was a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archie's birth and, despite reports of a rift; they are family and have a really lovely friendship," the insider said.

Their relationship suddenly changed over time, and they became closer since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding in 2018. To recall, there were reports that the Duchess of Cambridge cried during the fitting of Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid's dress. Sources claimed that it was one of the most "tense moments" in the alleged rift between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

Fortunately, the two overcame the reported feud and now closer than ever. They also speak often today than before. The insider added that they frequently text and talk now that they have more in common. They both know how to raise a kid under intense media scrutiny because of their being part of the royal family. Hence, Kate wanted to make sure that Meghan would feel welcome into the family.

To prove that they are now close, Kate Middleton, along with her sister Pippa, even joined Meghan at the royal box at Wimbledon to watch the latter's friend, Serena Williams, to play after Archie's christening, per MSN. Prince William's wife was even spotted comforting the former Suits star when the famed tennis player lost in the competition.

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle also watched together their husbands' play charity polo match. At the time, Meghan brought Archie along while Kate was with her kids -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, too.

Rumors about Kate Middleton and Meghan markle's alleged rift started when the Sussexes decided to move their household to Windsor last year. It had been known that the original plan for the two families was to live in Kensington Palace together. So, by the looks of it, whatever rift the two female royals have, they may have set it aside and put it behind them.
