Former 2NE1 member Minzy has filed an injunction against her current agency, Music Works Entertainment, seeking to terminate her contract.

According to a report by Soompi, Minzy applied for an injunction to be released from her contract on Sept. 25. She also sought a claim of 50 million won against her agency.

Based on initial reports, Minzy and her agency have both been interviewed by the court last Oct. 18 to determine its next course of action. The contents of Minzy's petition, as well as the results of the discussion, have not been disclosed by the court. Music Works has also refrained from issuing a statement, saying they have yet to review Minzy's request.

Since leaving YG Entertainment after the disbandment of 2NE1 in 2016, Minzy signed with Music Works Entertainment as a solo artist and released her first solo album Uno in 2017. However, the solo album was met with a lukewarm reaction from fans and music experts. A review by Idolator described the songs on the album as inferior to the previous tracks released by 2NE1.

Minzy also released her first English track All of You Say last December, a song that crosses genres of Kpop, reggae and hip hop, SCMP reported.

The road hasn't been quite easy for members of 2NE1 after their disbandment. 2NE1 leader CL contributed to the soundtrack of My Little Pony: The Movie with the English track No Better Feelin, and rocked the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics with performances of The Baddest Female and I am the Best. However, there have been no major breakthroughs in her solo career since she parted ways with 2NE1, The Kraze reported.

Park Bom also figured in a lot of controversy before her comeback early this year. It can be recalled that she initially teased her comeback on social media and claimed that she and The Black Label producer Teddy were in talks to work on her new album in 2017. YG Entertainment, the mother unit of The Black Label, quickly denied the existence of the project.

After the back and forth between Park Bom and YG Entertainment, the former 2NE1 member finally found a new home with D-Nation Entertainment, a relatively small agency that produced her comeback Spring, consisting of three powerful ballads. She also released a repackaged album Blue Rose with alternate versions of Spring featuring MAMAMOO's Wheein and a duet with her sister Park Goeun.

The final member of 2NE1, Sandara Park, is, currently, focused on hosting lifestyle and variety shows. Since the disbandment, she also revived her acting career through her first starring role in One Step, and the movie version of Cheese in the Trap. She also started a successful vlog called Dara TV where she features her activities and meet ups with her former 2NE1 members.

2NE1 members recently took time out of their schedules to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary, to the delight of BLACKJACKs.
