It's no secret that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will feature a lot of casualties. After all, it is set as the final film in the Skywalker Saga. But is it also possible that fans will need to say goodbye to someone that has been with the franchise since the original trilogy? A new leak strongly suggests that the Millennium Falcon is set for its last voyage in Star Wars Episode 9.

The Millennium Falcon is one of the biggest icons of the Star Wars Universe. It was first seen in A New Hope as Han Solo's ship, the same one that took Luke Skywalker out of Tatooine and into a life-changing journey. Although it seemed fine when it was last seen in Return of the Jedi, the Falcon was in a sorry state in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But despite several repairs courtesy of Chewbacca throughout the sequel trilogy, the Falcon's endless journeys might finally end in The Rise of Skywalker.

A new leak was posted on Reddit, and it reveals an important musical motif from Star Wars Episode 9. Interestingly, it confirms that the motif's title is "The Falcon's Last Ride" and that composer John Williams is still working on the score for the film. Not surprisingly, fans are dismayed with the track's title since it suggests that the Falcon might be destroyed in the movie.

There are speculations that Rey and Chewbacca will finally return the Millennium Falcon to its original owner Lando Calrissian. This could mean that Lando will be piloting the ship on its last ride but there is also a possibility that it won't be a happy ending. Will Lando have to crash his beloved ship to save the heroes in The Rise of Skywalker? Although people are hoping this will not happen, it could mean a heartbreaking end for Han Solo's old friend and their ship.

Some are hopeful that Star Wars Episode 9 will offer an optimistic fate for both Lando Calrissian and the Millennium Falcon. There is a possibility that the aforementioned track will be played while Lando heads home on the Falcon, and they could live happily ever after. Nevertheless, it is best to be prepared for the worst this December.

Will the Millennium Falcon survive until the end of the saga? Find out when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker finally hits theaters on December 20.
