BTS Jungkook has admitted to committing a traffic violation that caused a car accident with a taxi cab, and ARMYs are doing their best to protect him from backlash.

According to a report from All Kpop, Big Hit Entertainment made a statement on behalf of BTS maknae Jungkook on Monday, after the latter figured in an accident with a taxi driver on Monday.

Based on the statement, the agency acknowledged that Jungkook made a mistake, which caused the accident with another car. However, because the police investigation is still ongoing, the label did not disclose any further detail about the actual accident.

Big Hit assured that both Jungkook and the taxi driver only suffered minor injuries. It also said that the BTS member was fully cooperating with the police investigation into the accident.

"After the accident, Jungkook admitted that he violated the law, and followed the procedure diligently. He came to an amicable agreement with the victim. We apologize once again to the victim, and also apologize for worrying the fans," Big Hit stated.

It can be recalled that Jungkook was booked for a traffic violation last Monday after causing an accident near the Hannam-dong neighborhood of central Seoul. However, the police officer in charge of the case said that the incident was considered a minor case because it involved only minor human and property damage. The police officer refused to be named but said that the case did not involve any serious offense, Time reported .

Meanwhile, ARMYs have taken to Twitter to express their worry over Jungkook's welfare and defend him from an onslaught of criticisms, Newsweek reported.

#JungkookCarCrash quickly trended on Twitter where ARMYs from all around the world expressed their love and support for the BTS member. Many of the fans called out bashers for criticizing Jungkook and said that people should focus more on the safety and well being of those involved rather than playing the blame game.

Some fans also downplayed the accident since both Jungkook and the taxi driver suffered only minor injuries. They also said that Jungkook deserved credit for owning up to his mistake immediately instead of denying any wrongdoing.

While Twitterverse was abuzz with Jungkook news, his fellow BTS member J-Hope also caused a trend yesterday as #CNM100M rose to the top of the most talked-about topics. ARMYs celebrated J-Hope's hit solo Chicken Noodle Soup's milestone 100 million views on YouTube.
