The seemingly Halloween special episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 16 just recently premiered. While it's not the one any viewer would see on usual sitcom episodes, the "trick or treat" twist on the show still made a point.
The episode titled, Whistlin' Past The Graveyard, featured a mass graveyard from the past underneath the grounds of Pacific North. Aside from the bones of past patients found in the hospital, Jo's bloody wedding dress also won the attention of many fans and viewers.
It is also worth remembering Jo and Alex "re-tied" their knots in the courthouse. It was iconic given the holiday and the costumes that resembled the corpse bride.
According to Cartermatt, Jo's moment on Grey's Anatomy Season 16 will continue to shine on in the upcoming episodes. It has been revealed that her passion will be further highlighted in Episode 9, which will air two episodes from now.
Based on the synopsis of the episode, she will become a "safe have volunteer" upon receiving a call from Station 19. So, alongside the exploration of Jo's another milestone in life, a mini crossover event with Station 19 can also be expected in Grey's Anatomy Season 16 Episode 9.
In a scope made by Digital Spy, crossover episodes with Station 19 are said to become more apparent this season. As per the showrunner, Krista Vernoff, there will be mini events between the two shows.
The reason behind this is for the fans to feel that the "universe" is much more "blended." It was also teased that there will be a crossover romance between the two shows.
Quite obviously, this will not happen in the upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 16, given that Jo, who is now twice married to Alex, will be the bridge of crossover.
On another note, Jo's passion for helping others will not be the only focus of the episode. It was also revealed that Meredith would be featured in the course.
By this time in the show's plot, it seemingly appears that Meredith will now move on with her life. No one knows yet what will happen with her after her meeting with the board. Whether she will be continuing her practice as a doctor or as a simple mother, things are just about to unveil in the upcoming episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 16.
Episode 9 is set to air on Nov. 21, on ABC.
