Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip have a total of eight grandchildren, two from each of their kids. Among all the eight, only two have the title of a princess: Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, the children of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

The two princesses, who are direct cousins with Prince William and Prince Philip, are equally popular as their cousins. They also fan favorites because of their "down to earth" approach, as per reports. But, between the two, the youngest princess is having more attention in recent times.

Just last year, Princess Eugenie tied the knot with long-time boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank. While the spotlight has been quite apparent, Express UK learned a shocking revelation.

According to the publication, the 29-year-old princess previously revealed in an interview that she does not "care" much for royal titles. As it happens, it "bugs" her when someone calls her "princess."

She stated that she does not like to "flaunt" her royal status. So, as much as possible, she does not want to talk about it, especially with her friends.

The interview was said to happen in 2008 with journalist Georgie Greig. Based on statements, Princess Eugenie finds it "really annoying" to talk about her royal status or when someone claims that she is the princess.

She further shared that there was one time when a friend teased her and said, "Hi, Princess." Upon hearing the words, she immediately told her to "shut up."

While talking about the princess title "bugs" her, she still explained that she and her sister, Princess Beatrice, wants the world to see that they are just normal working young royal women. They also always try to live a normal and happy life despite being one of the most famous persons in the world.

Princess Eugenie also emphasized how much serious "grounding" they've received from their parents, which allows them to live strong as always. Amid all the "terrible media" interest, they believe "strongly" in who they are as a person. So, they feel very grateful to the "incredible" support system that they have.

According to Town and Country Mag, the princess title is not "compulsory" to Princess Eugenie. But, it was decided by her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Besides, the sovereign's grandchildren can have the prince and princess title. Even so, the titles are not required. It is worth noting that not all of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren have titles. Princess Anne's kids, Zara Tindall and Peter Philips do not have titles.

It was reported before that the queen approached Princess Anne about it. However, she reportedly declined the titles.
