Yang Hyun Suk, a former YG executive producer, attended the police as a suspect on November 9th. Yang is suspected of intimidating the whistleblower who submitted a testimony of drug purchase of B.I, a former member of iKON group of YG Entertainment.
Mr. Yang attended the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency Metropolitan Investigation Complex, where the current investigation team works.
Yang, who was in a black suit got off his van with his face looking down and his lawyer accompanying.
He replied briefly to the reporter's question whether he had intimidated the whistleblower, "I will respond to the Police questioning sincerely."
He was asked if he has any words to give to his fans. He went inside the office building without giving a reply.
Earlier, the police had officially charged Yang with the intimidation.
Yang allegedly intimidated A who gave a testimony on B.I's drug purchase while A was being investigated. Yang is being accused of having instigated A to change his testimony.
In return, he provided attorney fees to A, who was not related with YG. Yang used company's fund to pay the legal fees of A, which also added charges of business misconduct.
In addition, Yang is also accused of his attempt to harbor B.I by threatening A to change her testimony. Currently, the former CEO of YG is charged with three allegations.
Earlier, A reported these allegations to the Civil Rights Commission in June this year.
The police were due to summon the former representatives for investigation on November 6th. However, Yang's side announced that he would reschedule the summons date with the police.
The police, which have focused on collecting evidence since taking over the case in September, are expected to continue the investigation by contrasting the statements of A and his former representatives throughout the charges.
A police official said, "We need to confirm the facts about the alleged suspicion, and the investigation will continue until late afternoon." "We will thoroughly investigate any doubts raised by A."
