Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, wore a dark navy dress with a simple cut that had a black tie around the waist for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance last Saturday evening. The annual Remembrance Day celebrations was expected to be a reunion for the duchess and her husband Prince William with the Sussex royals, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

Though the four were not photographed standing or sitting next to each other at the said celebrations, Kate apparently gave a nod to her sister-in-law in her choice of a dress. Kate's outfit featured a bateau or boat neckline, which was the favorite or signature look of the Meghan Markle, according to royal observers.

Speculations were that Kate deliberately copied Meghan's favorite look as a tribute to her sister-in-law, amid reports of a rift between their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry. The latter expressed in an ITV documentary, which aired last October, that he and his brother were no longer spending time together like they used to.

Prince Harry seemingly confirmed the rumored rift between him Prince William when he stated that they are on a different path now as adults. Early this year, reports cited that there were tensions between the royal brothers as the Prince Harry apparently did not like his brother's advice about his whirlwind romance with Meghan.

Meanwhile, the following day at the service for Remembrance Day, it was Meghan Markle's turn to channel another royal when she chose to wear a wide-brimmed hat for the event. Royal fans said that the Duchess of Sussex's look reminded them of Princess Diana's attire during the same observance in 1991.

Meghan's belted long-sleeved ensemble was also a lot similar to Princess Diana's outfit. Only, the People's Princess completed her look with pearl earrings while Meghan chose to go without any jewelry.

Meanwhile, Meghan was standing at a separate window in the balcony while watching Prince Harry, Prince William and Prince Charles lay down wreaths to honor the soldiers for Remembrance Day on the ground. Kate, on the other hand, was next to Queen Elizabeth and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, at another part of the balcony.

Sources said that their positions were in accordance to the royal protocol that had senior royals, like Camilla and Kate, next to the Queen. Meghan, on the other hand, was standing next to Sophie, Prince Edward's wife, and the husband of Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy James Hamilton Laurence.
