Taeyang gave an interesting response when one fan asked if BIGBANG was going to make a comeback with all five members.

According to a report by Koreaboo, Taeyang addressed the fan's comment during a live stream of his discharge ceremony with Daesung. The VIP said that she missed Seungri and was waiting to see BIGBANG return with all of its original members.

The fan's question was considered controversial because of the recent spate of scandals that the BIGBANG maknae became involved in. Some VIPs have even asked for Seungri to be kicked out of the group, as a result.

It can be recalled that Seungri was one of the biggest celebrities implicated in the Burning Sun scandal where he and YG Entertainment's former CEO Yang Hyun Suk were accused of facilitating prostitution. They were also investigated for illegal gambling abroad.

Because of the magnitude of the scandal, Seungri requested the postponement of his mandatory enlistment and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry early this year.

While most fans expected Taeyang to sidestep the fan's question, he still replied to the VIP and said: "I will do my best."

For VIPs, it made sense that Taeyang was careful in answering the questions because of the negative publicity that plagued YG Entertainment while he and other BIGBANG members were serving their country.

However, fans observed that he still had a soft spot for BIGBANG's beleaguered maknae when he received a Seungri doll from one of the fans during the discharge ceremony.

Fans were happy to see Taeyang accept the gift that symbolized their youngest member. They also applauded him for his courage in addressing a comment about Seungri, even though other artists would just steer clear of the subject.

During the discharge ceremony, Taeyang greeted the fans by thanking them for waiting for BIGBANG's return. He said that he learned a lot during his time in the military and expressed gratefulness to his fellow soldiers whom he spent 20 months with, Soompi reported.

Daesung, for his part, shared his love for fellow soldiers who were working hard every day to protect the country. He said he had many realizations during his fulfillment of his mandatory service, especially when it came to empathize with other people.

Both BIGBANG members promised VIPs that they would repay their loyalty by working hard and making up for the time that was lost while they were enlisted in the military.

In the meantime, YG Entertainment has not yet released a statement on whether BIGBANG members will return as a group or work on their solo albums.

Out of five members, four members of BIGBANG have already completed their mandatory enlistment. T.O.P was discharged last July while G-Dragon was discharged from his duties as a soldier last October 26. Taeyang and Daesung were discharged on the same and were met by VIPs at the Ground Operations Command in the city of Yongin last Nov. 10.
