Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were sitting away from Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, at the concert for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance last Saturday. The moment was supposed to be a reunion for the four royals but it didn't seem like they had the time to catch up because they were conspicuously distant from each other.
According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan sat at the back row and were completely separate from Prince William and Kate, as well as Queen Elizabeth and Charles. At last year's ceremonies, the fab four were seated in the same area of the royal box but on the opposite sides of the Queen.
It's possible, however, that Prince Harry and Meghan were only following the seating arrangement decided by royal aides without their knowledge. But the designations could have hinted the extent of the alleged tension in the royal family.
It comes after Prince Harry confirmed in the documentary interview Harry & Meghan: An African Journey that he and his older brother haven't been spending time together since they are on different paths. Allegedly, Prince William was not pleased that Prince Harry talked about his relationship with his brother in public but there have also been reports the second in line to the throne was concerned for his brother and Meghan's well-being.
At last Saturday's special event, Prince William and Kate arrived ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan, as this was the protocol. Both pairs were all smiles as they walked through the entrance of the Royal Albert Hall but body language expert Blanca Cobb revealed Prince Harry and Meghan were not comfortable the whole time.
Cobb said that Prince Harry constantly placed his hand on his stomach as "a self-soothing gesture." He was allegedly comforting himself amid a stressful situation. Meghan, on the other hand, had her hands in awkward positions and this apparently showed a hint of unease.
The body language expert said that the Sussex royals were in sync and mirroring each other though. It indicated that they were in the same wavelength, which was a testament to their strong relationship.
In contrast, Prince William and Kate were quite relaxed and had bigger smiles during the event than Prince Harry and Meghan. There were also instances when Prince William lightly touched his wife to show their comfort level and bond.
