Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now a picture of a happy family with the arrival of their firstborn child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Six months after she gave birth, there are now rumors that she is once again pregnant and will soon give birth. But, no matter how intense the rumors are, the royal couple may not be expecting their baby number two yet.

According to Express, the Duchess of Sussex is a geriatric mother, which means she gave birth for the first time over the age of 35. As a woman gets older, the mother and child are more at risk to have pregnancy-related complications and health problems due to the changes in the reproductive system. There are also general health ailments that come with age that can affect both of them.

These risks fuel the speculations that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have their baby number two soon. However, there is a bit chance that the former Suits star will face more dangers if she gets pregnant within the year that she gives birth to baby Archie.

Archie is now six-month-old, which means he already passed the half-a-year milestone. Hence, Meghan Markle only has to wait for another six months to get pregnant again without facing increased risks.

The University of Hull professor of midwifery Julie Jomeen revealed that the recent study in Canada suggested women over the age of 25 should wait for a year before having another child. Women over 35 who got pregnant six months after giving birth reportedly had a higher 1.2 percent risk of experiencing maternal mortality compared to the younger ones. Hence, Meghan Markle could experience more risks if she would have a child six months after she gave birth to Archie.

This may be the reason why the odds of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle having a second child before the year ends dramatically dropped from 4/6 to 1/5. Cosmopolitan reported that bookmakers are confident that there would be another pregnancy announcement this year. However, in a statement on the site, it said that the odds of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announcing baby number two take another plunge.

The Duke of Sussex earlier revealed that they only planned to have two kids. In a talk with the activist and chimpanzee expert Jane Goodall, Prince Harry revealed that their concerns for the Earth's future pushed them only to have a couple of children.

"I've always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children, not too many," Prince Harry said. "Two, maximum." Since then, fans wanted to know when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have their second child.
