A cute scene happened during Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's appearance at the recent Remembrance Day at Westminster Abbey in London. As the royal couple approached D-day veterans, the Duchess of Sussex suffered from a makeup mishap, and a retired soldier had the most relatable reaction to it.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry paid their respects to the servicemen and women who risked their lives for the country. However, while greeting fans and chatting to well-wishers, the former actress had a makeup accident, per Express

When Meghan Markle met the D-Day veteran William Allen, she gave him a hug and kiss, resulting in leaving a makeup smudge on his coat. Instead of being mad, the retired soldier, who would turn 100 years old next month, seemed to be happy with what happened, saying he would never wash his coat.

Royal reporter Rebecca English detailed what happened in a tweet. "And here is D-Day veteran William Allen - a remarkable man who celebrates his 100th birthday next month," she tweeted. "Meghan hugged and kissed him, leaving a little make-up smudge on his jacket. 'I'm never washing that!' he said."

Meghan Markle might be the one who did her own makeup for the event. According to Glamour, the former Suits star likes to do her own makeup for most of her engagements.

A source even said that this move has nothing to do with Kate Middleton. In fact, she also has her makeup done for some special occasions, but she likes to do it herself.

Back to the event, Prince Harry talked to the service members' relatives what it was like serving in the armed forces while having a child at home. He knew how hard it was for the families, leaving him in awe for their ability to hold it back together.

The Duke of Sussex expressed his admiration for everyone who has to deal with that situation. There were also a lot of heartwarming stories that could be heard that day. He even saluted a nine-year-old kid, named Harrison Degiorgio-Lewis, who proudly wore his uncle's, Lt Aaron Lewis, cap and medals after he died in Afghanistan in 2008.

There were rumors this kid was the one who inspired Prince Harry to name his son Archie Harrison after they met several times. Meghan Markle also crouched down and talked to the 96-year-old Elizabeth Herschel, who was sitting in a wheelchair and wearing her and husband's, Stanley, medals. She used to be with the Auxiliary Territorial Service while her better half was a former royal engineer.

Herschel also gave Prince Harry some advice after seeing his ITV interview. She said he couldn't pick his family but could choose his friends, which the father-of-one gladly accepted.
