Song Hye Kyo reinforced her advocacy to recognize the martyrs of Korean liberation by donating another 10,000 copies of Korean guidebooks to international historical sites honoring the independence movement.

According to a report by All Kpop, Song Hye Kyo's recent donation went to the Dosan Ahn Chang Family House in Los Angeles, California. Last month, Song Hye Kyo also teamed up with Sungshin Women's University professor Seo Kyung Duk and donated to the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall in Shanghai, China and Utoro Village, Japan to commemorate Hangul Day, Xsports News reported.

For the past eight years, Song Hye Kyo has been working with professor Seo Kyung Duk to donate information guidebooks to Korean historical sites all over the world to promote awareness about the role of the heroes in liberating Korea from Japanese colonial occupation. The pair initially embarked on the mission to donate guidebooks to historical sites outside Korea because these facilities were not preserved very well.

In an interview with Professor Seo, he said that he and Song Hye Kyo had a similar goal towards honoring the martyrs. Seo added that he expected their collaboration to last for another decade.

It can be recalled that during the height of the Descendants of the Sun fame, Song Hye Kyo and Professor Seo also donated guidebooks to historic sites of Korean provisional governments in China. During the Japanese occupation, Koreans established provisional governments in different cities in China. Most of these locations have been preserved as museums, Soompi reported.

In 2016, the actress and the professor donated 10,000 guidebooks in the Xiangzhou, Chongqing and Changsha sites, which were given to visitors for free to provide information on what transpired during the significant period in Korean history.

The Encounter actress also donated Korean guidebooks to New York Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.Song Hye Kyo and Professor Seo also planned on funding the development of a free app to provide an audio service for visually impaired museum guests.

After her divorce with actor Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo decided to go back to school to attend a short course at an art school in New York. She most recently appeared in the drama Encounter opposite Park Bo Gum. Her agency has not announced any upcoming projects for the actress.
