After revealing she was "very sick" and "in so much pain" in a series of Instagram posts, Ariana Grande canceled her show at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday, Nov. 17. The songstress already gave her fans a heads up about the possible cancellation of her performance after talking about her poor health.
The 26-year-old star admitted that the last thing she would want to do was to cancel a show. However, the inevitable happened after she revealed that she had a sinus infection.
The infection forced Ariana Grande to cancel a show, which was part of her Sweetener World Tour. The Rupp Arena announced the sad news on Twitter, saying that after the multi-platinum artist revealed she was struggling to get better quickly on social, she was still not feeling well to perform for the night. It also assured that fans didn't have to worry as ticket holders would get a refund.
In a series of Instagram Story posts on Saturday, via USA Today, Ariana Grande revealed that her throat and head were in so much pain that she couldn't even swallow or lift her head. Although her voice seemed fine, she felt a lot of pain. It was also difficult for her to breathe.
"I just really don't know what's happening with my body right now and need to figure it out," she said. However, Ariana Grande assured her fans that she had plans to meet a doctor soon.
Due to her poor health, she feared that she had to cancel some of her scheduled appointments. She also admitted that she felt disappointed and freaked out because she couldn't feel better. Ariana Grande also disclosed that it had been three weeks since she felt the pain.
The Voice judge then apologized to her fans for giving anxious updates and oversharing. She just wanted everyone to be aware of what was going on with her before she canceled shows. "I push through and hide things as often as I can / as well as I can when sick and wouldn't say something unless it was really tough," she added.
According to CNN, Ariana Grande is now taking medication and is on IV drips. She is now doing everything she can to pull through.
Her fans are wishing her to feel better and even advising her to take care of her health first. One Twitter follower said they never wanted anything to happen to her. Her other supporters also flooded her social media pages with a lot of well-wishes.
