SEVENTEEN member S.Coups will be taking a break from group activities due to health concerns. The K-pop group's agency, Pledis Entertainment, has announced S.Coups' hiatus and asked the public to give the idol a time to heal.

In a statement, Pledis revealed that S.Coups is currently undergoing a thorough health examination after he manifested symptoms of anxiety. Pledis said the SEVENTEEN leader and his bandmates have decided that it would best for S.Coups' health if he will step back from group activities for a little while.

The agency reiterated that their priority is the well-being of their artists. They asked the public to refrain from further speculating about S.Coups' health. Instead, they appeal to give the idol time and space to heal. In return, Pledis vowed to give regular updates about S.Coups' recovery.

K-pop and SEVENTEEN fans, also known as the Carats, took to social media to express their support to S.Coups. They have been trending the hashtag #GetWellSoonSCOUPS since the hiatus announcement was released.

The recent announcement about S.Coups' health came just over a week after member Dino failed to join his bandmates on the first night of their three-day concert in Chiba, Japan. Dino had to rest due to enteritis or inflammation of the intestine.

The group -- composed of S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino -- released their third studio album An Ode and the title track "Fear" in September. The LP is SEVENTEEN's best-selling album to date, selling over 700,000 copies in its first week.

Meanwhile, no changes in SEVENTEEN's schedule are expected following the announcement of S.Coups' hiatus. The thirteen-member K-pop group is currently on their Ode To You world tour which started in late August. They are set to make tour stops in several cities in Asia, Europe, and in the U.S.

The thirteen-member K-pop boy group already performed for their fans in Seoul, Japan, and Indonesia. They are scheduled to end the year with shows in Bangkok, Thailand. The tour will continue next year.

SEVENTEEN will kick off the month-long U.S. leg of their Ode To You world tour in New Jersey on Jan. 10, 2020. It will conclude in Seattle on January 23.

Pledis earlier announced that the group is gearing for their first-ever dome tour in Japan in May 2020. According to the label, SEVENTEEN will perform in Tokyo Dome, Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome, and Osaka Kyocera Dome next year.
