Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are some of the most "followed" individuals on Instagram. Despite the fact that the royals do not have their accounts on the platform since the duchesses share theirs with their husbands, many are convinced that the public follows these accounts because of Meghan and Kate.
Currently, the accounts, @SussexRoyal, and @KensingtonRoyal have millions of followers. While the Cambridge couple's account has more than followers than the Sussex couple's, it has been revealed that Meghan Markle has the ultimate "Instagram crown," making her the "Instagram Queen" today.
According to Daily Express, a study and research conducted by the London Institute of Photography reveal that Meghan Markle has more influence on the platform than Kate Middleton. LIOP was said to use a tool to "analyze" the photographs posted by over six UK fashion magazines. The tool was also said to calculate the worth of each photo.
Based on findings, Meghan and Kate's "joint worth" on the platform was around £1.85 million. However, the Duchess of Sussex came out on top.
In 2019 alone, 281 photos of Meghan Markle were shared by the above-mentioned fashion magazines on Instagram. This is almost twice the number of photos that featured Kate Middleton. As revealed, the Duchess of Cambridge was only featured in 161 photos in the same year.
In terms of worth, the photos that featured Meghan "generated" over £1.31 million. On the other hand, Kate's photos were valued at £538,000.
It was further shared that among the platform's top 10 most liked photos today, Meghan Markle was featured in eight of them, while Kate Middleton was only in two. Accordingly, it is quite clear as to why the Duchess of Sussex has been deemed to have the crown [of Instragram] as of the moment.
As per other reports, these photos of the duchesses were largely "liked" and praised by fans and followers because of their overall appearances, styles, and looks. This is why the photos that have more likes are the ones that featured the duchesses' exquisite dresses and other pieces of clothing.
