Prince Harry and Meghan Markle previously announced that they will be taking a six-week break after finishing their royal duties. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are bringing their baby boy Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor to the United States over the holidays, but fans are not too happy about it.
On the online forum site Quora, one netizen asked: “Why will Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry not be spending Christmas with the Queen?” Royal fans discussed how they didn’t like the couple’s decision.
“I am completely flabbergasted and upset that PRINCE (please note he is a prince of this royal family and as such has certain demands made upon him that aren’t terrifying or difficult) PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle will be here in the States for Christmas,” one wrote. “This is so wrong of them. Of him! Harry needs to act like a member of this royal family that feeds, clothes, loves, and supports him.”
The fan pointed out that Prince Harry would go far and beyond to protect his wife. So if he feels that Meghan Markle is not happy, he would drop everything, including the royal family, just to please her.
“Meghan Markle cannot thrive in the UK. She has said so,” the fan added. “Prince Harry believes he has married the reincarnation of Diana, so he is ready to hide from cameras because Meghan likes to complain about her royal life. Meghan is a royal pain. And Harry needs to stand up to his wife, for just once and go home for Christmas.”
Many are disappointed with Prince Harry for choosing to spend the holidays in the US, especially because his grandparents are not getting any younger anymore and fans believe that he should cherish his time with them more. Some netizens were convinced that the decision was all because of Meghan Markle, garnering her even more hate from royal fans.
Just last month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a documentary titled Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, where they candidly revealed the pressures they have faced as a couple. It was also during the ITV program when the former actress shared her struggles after joining the royal family.
When asked about how she was, Meghan Markle thanked Bradby and said, “not many people have asked if I’m ok.” This statement didn’t please a lot of people as many believe that she was complaining.
