Police are investigating the possibility of suicide in the death of former Kara member Goo Hara after the singer was found dead in her Gangnam home last Sunday. While authorities have yet to release their findings, fans are already blaming Hara's former boyfriend, Choi Bong Jum as the cause.

According to a report by CNN, while police are still in the process of determining the cause of death for 28-year-old Goo Hara, fans already feared that the idol had taken her own life after the death of her good friend Sulli last month, as well as ongoing issues with her ex-flame. This was also not the first time that the singer attempted to end her life.

It can be recalled that, in May, Goo Hara attempted to commit suicide when she posted a single message on her Instagram, which simply stated: "Goodbye." In that instance, she was taken to the hospital, where doctors were able to save her life. In her message to fans, she apologized for causing concern and commotion.

"In terms of health, I am recovering ... I had been in agony over a number of overlapping issues," she said in an interview at the time.

Before she was found dead in her home on Sunday, Hara reportedly posted another single word message on Instagram. This time, the post simply read: "Goodnight." This became her last social media interaction before she died.

Most recently, fans became worried about Hara's mental health when she posted her distraught condition after learning about the death of Sulli. In her Instagram stories, she apologized to her friend for not being able to attend her funeral because she was in Japan. She also said sorry for only being able to say goodbye to Sulli through her post. She promised to work hard and live hard for her good friend.

Goo Hara spent the last few months in Japan to promote the release of her Japanese track, Midnight Queen. She recently staged a five-night concert tour from November 14-19 in Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. She was expected to continue with the promotion of her Japanese single before she was found dead in her home in Gangnam.

Fans who mourned the idol's sudden death took to social media to highlight the parallels of Sulli and Hara's experiences. Like Sulli, Goo Hara was very outspoken about the issue of cyberbullying, which has plagued the Kpop industry for many years. She also became the subject of several controversies.

It can be recalled that Hara figured in a controversial legal battle with her ex-boyfriend Choi Jong Bum, who allegedly threatened to release sex tapes the couple made while they were together. The former Kara member received plenty of support after the blackmailing attempt was publicized, particularly from the global #MeToo Movement.

Following Hara's death, Punish Choi Bong Jum became a top trending topic in Korea, as fans flooded social media with calls to hold him accountable for her death, All Kpop reported.
