Justin Bieber marked his first Father's Day on Sunday with a mix of celebration and introspection, revealing both intimate family moments and a wave of emotional vulnerability through a series of candid social media posts. The 31-year-old pop star and his wife, Hailey Bieber, welcomed their son Jack Blues Bieber in August 2024 and have kept much of his life private - including not yet revealing his face publicly.
The couple shared highlights from their Father's Day celebration on Instagram. In one post, Bieber uploaded a close-up selfie holding a tiny fake hand giving the middle finger, captioned, "I'm a dad that's not to be f----- with." He also posted images of luxury gifts he received for the holiday, including a $38,000 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch, two Prada backpacks, and a new Apple laptop. "Happy daddy day to me u lil ho," he wrote alongside the haul.
Hailey Bieber, 28, and baby Jack also featured in a clip of the family at home. Justin filmed from the floor while Hailey and their son sat at a piano, with Jack wearing a custom gold bracelet engraved with his initials, "JBB." The artist captioned another photo, "Made it home from a lil date night getaway ," reflecting on their brief holiday.
While the posts celebrated Bieber's new chapter as a father, they also revealed ongoing emotional struggles. The singer posted a string of messages responding to fan demands that he "heal." In capital letters, Bieber wrote, "PEOPLE KEEP TELLING ME TO HEAL. DON'T YOU THINK IF I COULD HAVE FIXED MYSELF I WOULD HAVE ALREADY?" He continued, "I KNOW I'M BROKEN. I KNOW I HAVE ANGER ISSUES."
In a vulnerable series of statements, Bieber added, "I TRIED TO DO THE WORK MY WHOLE LIFE TO BE LIKE THE PEOPLE WHO TOLD ME I NEEDED TO BE FIXED LIKE THEM, AND IT JUST KEEPS MAKING ME MORE TIRED AND MORE ANGRY." He cited his faith, writing, "JESUS IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO KEEPS ME WANTING TO MAKE MY LIFE ABOUT OTHERS."
The Instagram stories also included screenshots of a tense text exchange with an unnamed former friend. In the messages, Bieber appeared to write, "I will never suppress my emotions for someone. Conflict is a part of relationship." When the recipient said they were not used to someone "lashing out," Bieber reportedly responded, "This friendship is officially over."
Since baby Jack's birth, the couple has offered occasional glimpses into their lives as new parents. Hailey, who previously called motherhood the "wildest, coolest thing I've ever done," celebrated her first Mother's Day in May, writing, "I love being your mommy Jack Blues. Happy Mothers Day." She followed that with a post marking Jack turning nine months old.
Bieber previously spoke about wanting to introduce Jack to hockey, telling reporters in February at the Skate for LA Strong charity game that he hoped to get his son on the ice "as soon as possible."
The couple married in September 2018 and held a second, formal wedding the following year. In a May feature with Vogue, Bieber said, "I've done a lot of dumb things in my life, but the smartest thing I've ever done was marry Hailey."
