Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi successfully hosted a charity event last month that aimed to raise money to fund the DeGeneres Campus for the endangered gorillas in Africa. Amidst their charity work, it has been rumored that the TV host is planning to adopt a baby gorilla. However, there were also rumors that this plan has pissed off de Rossi.

According to Globe, DeGeneres is driving her wife crazy because of her obsession with the primates. The tabloid claimed Portia is getting sick of hearing Ellen talking about the primates and pushing to adopt a baby gorilla. The site cited a source as saying De Rossi doesn't share the same love that Ellen has been showing to the animals.

"Portia would like Ellen to show more attention to her - her wife!" the source said.

The outlet did not stop there. It also claimed that the friends of the couple think de Rossi has to blame for DeGeneres' obsession with the apes. She was the one who gifted the Emmy-winner TV host with a wild animal fund on her 60th birthday last year.

Gossip Cop, however, debunked the rumors and wrote de Rossi is equally passionate as her wife when it comes to the critically endangered animals. The site added that the celebrity couple knows that adopting a gorilla is not a good idea considering they don't have a zoo and they are not experts in taking care of such animals.

Gossip Cop noted that the Finding Dory star and de Rossi are most likely focused on keeping the wild animals on their natural habitat. This is to ensure their survival which is the main focus of their initiative called The Ellen Fund.

Both Ellen and Portia are committed animal lovers. During DeGeneres' 60th birthday, de Rossi gifted her with a permanent gorilla home in her namesake at The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in Rwanda. The Ellen Fund will help continue Dian Fossey's work to protect and study endangered mountain gorillas.

So far, they have traveled to Rwanda three times and had close encounters with the endangered mountain gorillas. Last month, the couple launched the initiative to raise funds for the campus in Rwanda. The star-studded Gorillapalooza was attended by some of the couple's celebrity friends such as Julia Roberts, Diane Keaton, Sofia Vergara, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, and James Corden.

The Late Late Show host and DeGeneres handled the live auction in which Roberts and Vergara had a hilarious bidding war. The event raised a total of $5 million.
