Kate Middleton and Prince William made a funny tweet when they learned that Camila Cabello stole a pencil from Kensington Palace in the celebration of Teen Hero Awards. The "Señorita" hitmaker revealed on BBC Radio 1 that the show's host, Greg James, dared her to get something from the palace, and she did.
Greg James started to detail what happened at the event, per the New York Times Post. When they were about to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, he told Shawn Mendes' girlfriend that she had to "steal something." "Steal that pencil," he asked her.
Camila Cabello then questioned Greg James if he was "triply doggy" daring her, which he just admitted. The 22-year-old later told the radio presenter that he couldn't just dare her, saying that it was something that she learned in life. Hence, she did it.
The former Fifth Harmony member went on to say that Greg James called her out to one of the Palace people and revealed that she stole a pencil. Camila Cabello was left with nothing to do but only said, "oh my God.
The Cuban-American singer then apologized to Kate Middleton and Prince William on the air. "I am sorry, William, and I am sorry, Kate," she said. BBC Radio 1 shared the revelation on Twitter and even tagged the Cambridges' Twitter account.
Of course, this caught their attention, and Kensington Royal responded with a pair of eyes emoji. By the looks of it, the royal couple will be keeping an eye on her.
The pencil is still with Camila Cabello and hid it in her mother's handbag. Her mom, on the other hand, wanted to give the pen back.
Greg James also replied to the tweet with "uh-oh" and thanked the songwriter for "deflecting" the handshake news story about Princess Charlotte. To recall, just like Camila Cabello, he also got in hot water with Kate Middleton and Prince William when he mocked their only daughter's first day of school.
According to Express, the radio DJ laughed at Princess Charlotte for shaking her teacher's hand at the Thomas's Battersea in south London. So, when he visited the Kensington Palace before the Teen Hero Awards, Kate Middleton and Prince William approached him.
They told her that they were listening to him on the morning of Princess Charlotte's first day of school, and they wanted to talk to him about the handshaking scenario. They heard him said that Thomas's Battersea was so posh that students had to shake their teacher's hand every day.
Greg James recalled that it was not how it was back in his time. He would be lucky if he even had a smile from his teacher at the time. Kate Middleton and Prince William have been hosting Radio 1's Teen Heroes at Kensington Palace for the last four years.
