The Seoul Gangnam police have released an official statement on its investigation into the death of former KARA member, Goo Hara. Authorities revealed that there was no sign of foul play in the death of the 28-year-old singer.

Based on the results of the investigation, police found a handwritten note on the living room table, which was confirmed to be Goo Hara's. The note reportedly contained a pessimistic message about life. Police also detailed the events leading up to the discovery of Goo Hara's body at 6 pm last Sunday. Investigators revealed that it was Hara's housekeeper who found her and reported the incident to the police, Kpopstarz reported.

"When the officials arrived on the scene, Hara was already dead. Our office has carefully studied and investigated the site, with all the pieces of evidence gathered, we have come to the conclusion that there was no foul play involved," police stated. The police report further revealed that based on the CCTV footage from the residence, Goo Hara arrived at her Gangnam home at around 12:35 on the morning of November 24. They said she might have died a few hours later. It has not been revealed whether investigators will perform an autopsy on the body pending the family's decision on the matter.

Meanwhile, SBS funE reporter Kang Kyung Yoon revealed that unknown to the public, Goo Hara reached out to offer her help in investigating the Jung Joon Young chatroom case, which involved the singer-songwriter's admission to filming and distributing illegally filmed footage of his sexual encounters with several women.

Goo Hara, who was reportedly blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend Choi Jong Bum about revealing videos of their intimate acts, contacted the reporter and offered her help on the case, given her personal experience as a victim of a similar violation. Kang Kyung Yoon said that she felt Goo Hara's sincerity in wanting to uncover the truth behind the case and acknowledged that the star provided a lot of help.

The reporter said that when she learned about the news about Sulli's death, she called Hara to encourage her to be strong. Sulli was known to be one of Goo Hara's best friends. The former f(x) member was 25 when she died last month. Kang said she was saddened to hear about Goo Hara's death so soon after her good friend's passing, Soompi reported.
