Princess Beatrice is going to marry her beau, Italian-British real estate developer and multimillionaire Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, sometime in 2020. However, there have been questions on whether or not the young princess, who is Prince Andrew's first-born child, could lose her royal status because her future husband's religion.

According to Daily Express, Mozzi comes from a long line of Italian noble families dating back to the 1700s. Thus, some believe that he is of Catholic faith, which could be crucial for the British royal family. Can Princess Beatrice be bumped off the line of succession if she married someone outside of her own faith as Anglican?

Currently, Prince Andrew's eldest daughter is the ninth in line to the British throne. Fortunately for Princess Beatrice, she can marry someone who isn't Anglican and still keep her royal title and rank in the succession now that it was amended through the Succession to the Crown Act 2013.

Had Princess Beatrice married before this amendment was made, she would have definitely lost her line in the succession much like her grand uncle Prince Michael of Kent, Queen Elizabeth's first cousin. In 1978, Prince Michael gave up his status because he married a Roman Catholic. He was, however, reinstated in 2015 because of the Crown Act of 2013 and is now the 48th in line to the throne.

Yet, whether the act was amended or not, Princess Beatrice's status is supposed to be secure because Mozzi is apparently Anglican and his own parents were married in the Church of England. The scribes of Daily Express have been finding proof that he was baptized as an Anglican and the verdict is still out on this.

If Mozzi hasn't been baptized, he could go ahead and undergo a baptism and confirmation with the Anglican church just as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle did before they married Prince William and Prince Harry, respectively. The law also stated that Princess Beatrice cannot convert to Catholicism and her children with Mozzi will be raised as Anglican.

Speaking of children, Princess Beatrice is apparently eager to start her own family with her soon-to-be-husband. She's quite taken by Mozzi's 2-year-old son, Woolfie, from a previous relationship, according to Daily Mail.

Princess Beatrice and Mozzi started dating right after the wedding of Princess Eugenie in October 2018 though their families have been acquainted for some time. They made their official public appearance as a couple at the National Portrait Gallery gala early this year.
