The private information on customs declaration documents of celebrities was leaked. The released information included the documents of Actress Song Hye-kyo, Soccer player Ahn Jung-hwan and Kim Tae-won.
On December 1, SBS reported, "We recently obtained customs declaration documents and photos of public figures from a whistleblower. From what we are aware, the documents were leaked by a customs official identified as Mr. Kim and his co-workers who were working at Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Airport at the time."
Mr. Kim and related staff sneaked out or took pictures of celebrity customs declarations made between 2011 and 2015.
The customs declaration contains personal information such as occupation, date of birth, passport number, address and telephone number.
In this regard, the Korea Customs Service said that after investigating the leakage, it will severely punish those involved and devise measures to prevent recurrence.
