In the last few weeks, talks about Queen Elizabeth stepping down from her royal duties when she is 95 years old has become louder and louder. When Prince Charles becomes King after his mother, he will need the support of his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Queen is preparing her for it.

According to royal expert Penny Juror, over the years, Prince Charles' wife has shown how she will be "hugely supportive consort" to the King. The Queen sees her as someone who gives Prince Charles the strength and confidence to deliver the job he was destined to do. Juror also said that Prince Charles would be a good King with Camilla by her side.

In preparing her for the role, Camilla has taken on a fewer number of royal engagements, allegedly at the request of the Queen. Her main role is to support Prince Charles just as Prince Philip was told by King George VI, Queen Elizabeth's father, that his main role is to support his wife.

When she started her work with the royal family, Camilla was going to 100 to 250 engagements every year. This year, however, the Duchess of Cornwall has 79 royal engagements so far, the lowest in her almost 15 years of marriage to Prince Charles.

But a poll from Daily Express revealed that 61 percent of readers will not be happy if Prince Charles becomes King and Camilla is the Queen. Some 35 percent said that they would be pleased while 4 percent remained undecided about this potential set up.

Some royal followers also said that they would rather see Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as King and Queen of England. Camilla's image remains tainted by the fact that she caused the unhappiness of Princess Diana, Prince Charles' first wife, in their marriage.

However, there are also a few people who think that the monarchy must be abolished when Queen Elizabeth retires. Labour Party's Jeremy Corbyn said that he might push to call for the creation of a Head of State in place of the monarch as it would be the most appropriate time.

Nicola Sturgeon also said that she could go for the idea of abolishing the monarchy. She believes that it will soon become a debate in the Parliament, in light the scandals besieged by the royal family.
