The youngest child of Prince Edward, James, Viscount Severn, is the 12th in line to the British throne. But this 11-year-old is already showing signs that he's got some skills his father won't even be caught doing.

According to Daily Express, James is quite the master at fly-fishing that Queen Elizabeth loves to do. Royal insiders revealed that the Queen was so delighted at her grandson because they could share this pastime.

Over the summer, James spent 10 days with the Queen in her summer home in Balmoral to engage in this hobby. Prince Edward, however, did not even attempt to join as he lacked the patience to catch salmons at the River Dee.

Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, on the other hand, also joined James and the Queen while they went fly-fishing since Prince Edward's wife, is quite the fisherwoman herself. For the rest of that summer, the Queen also spent some time riding horses with James' older sister Lady Louise.

According to a royal insider, the Wessex kids have now become Her Majesty's favorites among her grandchildren. The Queen is also closely following James as he gets better and better at fly-fishing. This is the sport that even the Queen Mother loved to do while she was still alive.

Meanwhile, James is also the newly designated person at the grill during the royal family's summer holidays in Balmoral. He has taken over this role from his grandfather Prince Philip, whose burger-flipping prowess is legendary.

According to Honey Nine, the Duke of Edinburg's domain is at the grill. During the family's documentary feature on the BBC in 1969, Prince Philip really wanted the world to see that he could dish up excellent meals at the barbecue. The documentary was supposed to depict the royals as normal people.

James and Louise don't tend to hog the headlines as members of the royal family since they are still minors. They also stay away from the public eye and could only be seen during special events with the royals, such as the Queen's birthday or weddings.

The Countess of Wessex once said that she and Prince Edward make an effort to keep James and Louise out of media scrutiny so that they can grow up as normally as possible. Sophie said that she wants her children to find jobs and earn their own money later one, as well as start their own family when the right time comes.

James and Louis are expected to join their parents and the royal family for Christmas in Sandringham, as well as for the mass in the morning.
