The royal family members have individual obligations, but they attend and complete the same duties most of the time. On Tuesday, the world leaders gathered at Buckingham Palace for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Alliance’s 70th anniversary. Among the attendees are US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump.

All the members of the royal family were welcome to join the NATO reception. Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Earl of Wessex, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra represented the Royal family at the event. However, Prince Andrew is not on the guest list.

Prince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle were notably absent. Instead of her husband, Kate Middleton was accompanied by her private secretary Catherine Quinn to support Queen Elizabeth.

It was previously reported that Prince William was set to go on a royal tour to Kuwait and Oman on his own from December 1 to 4. The Duke of Cambridge’s solo endeavor is a response to a request by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to visit the Middle Eastern states.

As for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they are currently in the U.S. for their six-week break. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be celebrating the holidays away from the rest of the royal family, which sparked a lot of criticisms.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed in their explosive interviews in the ITV documentary about their struggles after tying the knot last year. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been bombarded with constant criticisms from the public and the media for quite some time now, leading them to sue a couple of publications.

Although they didn’t confirm that their break is to avoid more scrutiny, it is quite obvious that they needed to separate themselves from all the chaos. However, royal fans are disappointed, especially on Prince Harry, for the decision.

Singer-songwriter Sir Rod Stewart even slammed the couple for spending the Christmas season in the U.S. “The Queen is 93. I flew around the world to be with my mom and dad at Christmas because I knew they didn’t have many left,” Rod Steward said. “I was disappointed Harry and Meghan decided not to spend Christmas with the Queen. If I was Harry, I’d think there was plenty of time in the future to have Christmases on my own or with Meghan’s mom.”
