BTS Jungkook proved that he is the King of Twitter, at least among Korean celebrities, when one of his posts became the third most-liked tweet of all time in the history of the platform.
Ruling Twitterverse was no small feat for BTS' golden maknae. Jungkook's tweet where he showed himself dancing to Billie Eilish's Bad Guy was liked by 2.32 million Twitter users. The post joined the ranks of tweets from former US President Barack Obama, who led the list with 4.41 million likes, and Ariana Grande, whose post was liked by 2.48 million users, All Kpop reported.
YouTuber PewDiePie followed on the fourth spot with 2.31 million likes while Ellen DeGeneres received 2.28 million likes for her post.
Jungkook's popularity online has been proven many times over. Just this October, his V Live Thank You became the fastest video on the platform to reach 200 million views. In just 180 days, it became the fastest solo video to reach the milestone.
It was not even the first time that the BTS golden maknae surpassed the 200 million view mark on the broadcast platform. His individual JK broadcast from 2018 now has over 259 million views.
Jungkook connects well with fans online through his posts. His social media activities have earned him the title of Sold Out King because of the strong support from fans who watch out for the products he uses.
It can be recalled that when he mentioned two brands of fabric conditioners during a live broadcast, the products quickly few off the shelves in supermarkets and online stores. The same was true for a book that fans spotted in his room during a V Live session. When Jungkook addressed a fan's question about his skincare, he did not even need to mention the brand of the actual product he used. Based on the clues he provided, JK stans bought out the products in record time.
While BTS' golden maknae showed his cheerful side most of the time as the youngest member of the idol group, he also showed his vulnerable side when he talked about the downside of his fame.
In an interview with Elites Daily, Jungkook admitted that he took it hard when he said or did something to cause disappointment to the fans.
"I realized that I should think twice before I do anything, and not forget where I am, no matter what situation I may be in. The pressure of being perfect is always there. But I want to show them that I am improving," Jungkook said.
