The way Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga worked on their hit movie A Star Is Born and the way they look at each other during performances of the film OST, many would believe that the two have known each other for a long time. But that is not true.

The two first met after Lady Gaga performed at the opening of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at Sean Parker's Los Angeles house in April 2016. The "Born This Way" singer sang édith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose" at the charity event, and Cooper was in the audience.

In an interview with W magazine, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor said he was blown away by Gaga's performance and got inspired to cast her as Ally in A Star Is Born. He also wanted her to write a song for the movie.

Bradley admitted that he is not following Lady Gaga's work before she stunned him at the benefit concert. He said was in total awe of her performance and he knew right away that the American Horror Story actress would be his leading lady in the movie that he is planning to write, produce, and direct. Cooper said he called Gaga's agent the next day and asked if he could meet the singer/actress in her house.

"I drove to Malibu, and we sat on her porch, and the next thing I know, I'm eating spaghetti and meatballs, and I said, 'Can we sing a song together?'" the American Hustle actor told W Magazine.

As for Lady Gaga, she also confessed that there is instant chemistry between her and Cooper. After their pasta dinner, they went over to her piano and sang a duet of Credence Clearwater Revival's "Midnight Special." After hearing how they sounded amazing together, the "Bad Romance" hitmaker knew they would make a great movie.

The two also bonded over food. Cooper revealed at the 2018 Venice Film Festival Conference that since both of them came from East Coast Italian-American families, he and Gaga had real synchronicity even on their upbringing.

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga sparked dating rumors after their movie was released and had a steamy "Shallow" performance at the 2019 Oscar. The rumors were further fueled by the fact that Gaga called off her engagement to Christian Carino just before the Oscars. Cooper also ended his relationship with model Irina Shayk.

The singer denied the rumors in several interviews. The two remain friends up to this moment.
