Melanie Trump could stand for the men in her life: President Donald Trump and their son, Barron. The First Lady showed how protective she was to her son when some screaming fans greeted them.

In a video shared on social media, the First Family was seen greeted by some supporters as they exit a restaurant. President Donald Trump can be seen being sway by his aides to meet and greet his supporters and posed for photos with them.

Melania, on the other hand, walked the opposite direction, a few feet away from the president. She was also seen gesturing to the 13-year-old presidential son to move closer to her and away from the cameras.

Melania received praises on social media for being a loving and protective mother, and how she keeps Barron away from the media. Others also gushed about how handsome and taller Barron has become.

The First Lady has been known to be very protective of her son especially after her husband took office. In a 2016 interview with US Weekly, she talked about how she and Barron handle harsh comments about them.

Melania revealed that she has been teaching Barron the right way to respond to the rude remarks about them. FLOTUS added that she makes sure that she's always at home to guide her son.

Melania Trump's most recent protective gesture towards her son came just a few days after she hit back on impeachment witness Professor Pamela Karlan. The Stanford University professor cracked a joke about Barron during the House judiciary committee's impeachment inquiry hearing.

At the hearing, Karlan was asked to compare the fears of the framers of the US Constitution to President Trump's behavior. She responded by comparing Trump's role to a King and saying the president can name his son Barron; he can't make him a Baron.

Her comments were met with laughter from the audience in the room. Mrs. Trump took to Twitter to slammed Karlan for her joke.

"A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics. Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and biased public pandering, and using a child to do it," Melania wrote on Twitter.

Karlan has apologized since. FLOTUS's tweet received mixed reactions from netizens. Some said Melania did the right thing to defend her son while others viewed the First Lady as a hypocrite and cited how her husband maligned women on social media and treated the children of immigrants at the border.
