Most K-pop stars don’t take compliments well. They usually get all shy and flustered, and would rather shift the attention to the other members — BTS’s Jin is not one of them.
Unlike most idols, Jin is the first one to admit that he’s handsome. While other people with this confidence would get some backlash, it is quite hard to argue with Jin, who is just stating facts.
Knowing that people mostly like him because of his looks, Jin makes sure that they get what they want. For those who have been following and watching videos of BTS’ airport arrival and departure, you have probably predicted by now that the one member who doesn’t wear a mask is Jin.
This time, however, Jin did more than just showing off his handsome face. When BTS arrived at Gimpo Airport Departure on December 13, the BTS star did something so photographers will take a good snap of his incredible handsomeness.
While walking past the media, Jin didn’t only smile and wave at them, he did a slow-motion walk so the photographers could capture his photos well. RM, who was behind him, also did the slow-mo walk, making it appear that the video was actually in slow motion.
Although V was puzzled by what Jin and RM were doing, he let him do their thing by stopping behind them. However, the slow-mo illusion was quickly debunked by Suga when he passed by the pair at normal speed.
It is easy to see that Jin enjoys entertaining people on and off the stage. He usually interacts with the media and even gives them something to talk about.
Meanwhile, confidence is the main key to Jin’s “Worldwide Handsome” status. He previously shared that calling himself handsome is a part of his morning routine.
“You know, this is kind of embarrassing to say myself, but I do this thing where I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror. And I tell myself, ‘Seokjin. You’re so handsome. What are you going to do!’ I’m serious. That’s how I start my mornings,” he said. “I keep facing myself in the mirror and tell myself that I’m not so bad. And that’s how I start my mornings, with confidence. I’m telling you, it’s good for you! In order to be confident throughout the day, you need to make a habit of praising yourself.”
Calling him “Worldwide Handsome” is no exaggeration at all, and it’s hard not to adore how Jin owns this title wherever he goes.
