Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be in their six-week vacation, but they don't forget to update their over 9 million followers on Instagram. The Sussexes recently shared a quote about caring, but it looks like it doesn't sit well with their fans. The two instantly received backlash for their post, which some deemed to be the opposite of what they show in real life.
Using their signature navy and white style format, the royal couple started the week with a feel-good quote. "Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community," the quote from the inspirational author Anthony J. D'Angelo read.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle captioned the snap, saying that it was a thoughtful quote for the day, wishing every one of a wonderful week ahead. However, despite the good intention, it received a backlash.
One fan said that they chose to share a loud quote on the exact day that Prince William and Kate Middleton would appear on TV to make some noise. Another one questioned Meghan Markle's inability to talk to her nearest family member, so why is she preaching about caring to everyone?
There are also some who said they should stop posting "pompous quotes." Another one added that they don't understand why she joined the royal family and now complaining, crying, and hiding that they now feel bad for the British clan for having to put up with the diva in Meghan Markle.
They even used Queen Elizabeth II's mantra of "Don't explain, Don't complain." With the backlash, there was one who said that they should stop all the quotes because it wasn't received well by their followers, and they sounded "super obnoxious." People were supposed to be following them to see photos and updates from the family and not to see quotes from famous people.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently enjoying their six-week break from royal duties. They are in the United States, along with their seven-month-old son, baby Archie. According to Daily Mail Online, the royal spent Thanksgiving with the former actress' close family.
A spokesman earlier said that they would spend the festive season with Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, in an undisclosed location. Although some question their decision, Queen Elizabeth is said to be "supportive" and "understands" their need to have a break, away from the spotlight. She also knows that the former Suits star also wants to spend Christmas with her mom after two years of spending it with the royal family.
