Saget said he's emotional that Fuller House season 5 will be the last installment because he had to say goodbye to his character Danny Tanner for good. He told Us Weekly that he's "crying all over the place" and "brought back a lot of memories" for him.
The actor has been part of the Fuller House for five seasons, and also appeared on the original series Full House from 1987 to 1995. According to Saget, everyone was prepared that the Netflix spinoff will end after its fifth season because the streaming platform informed the cast and crew.
But although he knew Fuller House season 5 will be the final one, he said saying goodbye isn't easy. He noted that he became close with his TV daughters Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) and Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner), and they've stayed friends over the past years.
Saget also addressed his relationship with Sweetin, Bure, and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) off-screen, saying he's more emotional about seeing them and being with them. Then, the actor said the remaining half of Fuller House season 5 will drop in 2020 and will deliver a "nice closure" for fans.
Back in July, Bure also said she's prepared for the wrap but hoped it wouldn't be their final season. She then added that fans can expect crazy stuff in the last few episodes of the fifth installment. The actress further shared the finale will tie up all the loose ends with all the different relationships and characters.
Meanwhile, according to CarterMatt, Fuller House as a franchise may still have the power to stay. The outlet noted that the spinoff is popular on Netflix, and the original series was a huge hit as well. Fans could, reportedly, see HBO Max picking up the series and give it more a try.
However, nothing is confirmed as of yet and the current season will be the final one. While fans were sad the series is ending soon, many were also excited to see what will happen to each character in the finale. There's still a lot of cool stuff to look forward to as the show comes to an end.
The first half of Fuller House season 5 is currently available to stream on Netflix, while the second half will be released sometime in 2020.
