WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for The Resident season 3 episode 10. Read at your own risk.

The Resident season 3 episode 10 recently aired on Fox, with the title "Whistleblower." The episode serves as the fall finale and there were some unexpected things that happened within this episode, particularly to Matt Czuchry's Conrad Hawkins. Here's what happened in the recently released episode.

In The Resident season 3 episode 10, Devon and Conrad treated a young man named Tyler. The patient is in need of a liver transplant as his organ was severely damaged after an acetaminophen overdose. However, Tyler's mother didn't know that her son was attempting suicide when he took the pills.

There is a rule at Chastain that suicide patients weren't allowed to get a spot on the transplant list. But then, Devon and Conrad decided to lie about Tyler's case; trying to hide the truth he attempted to take his life. They insisted that his overdose was an accident, not planned.

However, the truth eventually came out at the end hour of The Resident season 3 episode 10. Tyler underwent a transplant and received his new liver. But, someone from the transplant team heard Tyler and Conrad talking, with the latter saying words like: "take your own life".

Conrad pretended as if nothing happened and insisted the rule about suicidal patients is arbitrary. However, in the last scene of The Resident season 3 episode 10, he was fired by Red Rock Mountain Medical's Logan Kim for violating the transplant rule.

In addition, Conrad loses his job right after he's been named as Chastain's chief resident. Despite that, he already knew the reason why he got fired. He got dismissed from the hospital and forced to hand in his white coat and pager, and then he eventually walked out of the building.

Executive producer Todd Harthan has something to say about the final scene -- where Conrad goes from looking determined to looking worried after what happened to him. Speaking with TVLine, he said that the character was really determined but he felt alone as soon as he stepped outside Chastain.

Harthan also teased that Conrad's new battle would be unfamiliar, and they're going to explore that when the series returns. He noted that they don't want to rush the part of Conrad's struggle, so they'll explore and live in it to show the character's vulnerable side.

Meanwhile, fans need to wait for a little while before they find out what will happen next to Conrad as the series is currently on its midseason break. Right now, Fox isn't sharing much detail on what to expect when the series returns.

But, the good news is that fans will not wait for too long and they'll be seeing the series back on the small screen within a few weeks. The Resident season 3 will drop its new episodes starting Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, on Fox.
