Kate Middleton recently caused quite a stir when she shrugged Prince William’s hand off when he tried to touch her in front of a lot of people during their appearance in A Berry Royal Christmas TV special. Although the Duchess of Cambridge was smiling from ear to ear, people couldn’t help but think that the royal couple may be feuding.

Now, Wendy Williams took things up a notch and called Kate Middleton “boring.” The Wendy Williams Show host also likened the Duchess of Cambridge to first lady Melania Trump, who is known for being dry towards President Donald Trump in public.

“Normally when someone touches you, you lean into them or touch them back. Clap if you think that was a shrug off. OK. They are boring to me,” she said.

Wendy Williams then went on to say that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are more in love because they are always affectionate towards each other. Since the royals are allowed to do some PDA action, the host couldn’t see the point why Kate Middleton didn’t let Prince William touch her in public.

Royal etiquette expert Myka Meier previously explained that although royal couples are allowed to be touchy in public, they take everything into consideration.

“There is no actual etiquette or royal protocol that says the couple must refrain from PDA,” she said. “The likely reasoning is more that while traveling on a tour such as the India trip, technically the couple is working representatives of British monarchy. The couple is likely to show very little PDA, if any, to remain professional during their designated roles abroad.”

Royal fans then defended Kate Middleton and many believed that Wendy Williams had no right to be mean and vicious towards the Duchess of Cambridge. Some even slammed Daily Mail when the publication reported about the incident and appeared to make a big deal out of the short moment.

“And just like clockwork, the Daily Mail decides that Kate shrugged off William’s hand because PDA was inappropriate in that setting. Wouldn’t have made that lame excuse if it were H&M,” one wrote on Twitter. “This is a whole lot of nothing. She moved away and then moved back. What about the rest of the hours? Which was wonderful,” another one posted.

One royal fan pointed out that, “Not fake news, just not a big deal! Earlier in the episode, he touches her the same way and she does nothing. This is an engagement and she may not feel comfortable with it in this environment. (I love both Sussexes and Cambridges).”
