Before 2019 rolled around, there were rumors about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton planning to adopt an orphaned child. One year since that story came out and now it can be proven that it was indeed a fabrication.

The Globe ran the story in its printed edition sometime before Christmas 2018.  The report claimed that the long-term couple considered the adoption after meeting the 2-year-old girl who didn't have any parents.

The tabloid quoted unnamed sources who said that Stefani was quite nervous about how her own children from her first marriage would react to the idea of having an adopted sibling. The article further reported that Stefani's sons were actually overjoyed to be getting a sister. Additionally, The Globe also stated that Stefani and Shelton opted for adoption because they failed their IVF treatments.

Gossip Cop, however, immediately verified the story through the singers' official spokesperson who invalidated the claims. The spokesperson said, at that time, that Stefani and Shelton do not have any plans to adopt. True enough, the couple still have no kids together -- adopted or otherwise -- a year after the story came out.

Meanwhile, nearly four years since meeting and dating each other, Stefani said that Shelton saved her life. She never expected to fall in love again after her 13-year marriage to Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale ended.

Shelton, however, revealed that Stefani has helped him get back in touch with his faith. Because of her, the country singer has started going to church.

In an interview with the Tennessean, Shelton also revealed that he believes in God today more than any other time in his life. His whirlwind relationship with the No Doubt singer makes all the more sense to him once he started accepting God again.

In another interview, Shelton proudly shared that Stefani has finally learned to love country music but he could not give himself the credit. He said that the pop singer's newfound love for the genre is because she wasn't exposed to country music as a child, being raised born and raised in Los Angeles. Now, it is the music she listens to all the time.

Stefani and Shelton recently collaborated in a new song titled "Nobody But You," which is released in Shelton's "Fully Loaded: God's County" album. Shelton said that working on this latest project re-energized him knowing that there's a new generation of country music-loving kids, including the love of his life.
