Miranda Lambert and her new husband Brendan McLoughlin are meant to be together, according to friends. The country singer's fans and followers were shocked when she announced on social media a few days after Valentine's Day that she married the New York police officer following a short period of dating.

A source told People Magazine that Lambert, 35, is "happier than ever" with her new marriage to McLoughlin, 27. The cop brings a "state of normalcy" and balance to the country superstar's life.

Another friend pointed out that McLoughlin has a lot in common with Lambert's father, Rick, who was also a cop from Dallas. "If you know Miranda's dad and his background, you can guess why she'd easily connect with Brendan," the friend said.

Lambert has been dating McLoughlin on the down low for three months before they decided to get hitch. They met in November, while the singer visited Good Morning America on Times Square, where the cop was assigned.

The couple's actual wedding happened on Jan. 26. She has been keeping this big secret for three weeks before she decided to tell her followers for Valentine's Day.

This is Lambert's second marriage after her divorce from Blake Shelton in 2015, whom she was with for almost five years. After that relationship ended, she also dated two other singers, Anderson East, and Evan Felker. Felker and Lambert broke up last August 2018.

McLoughlin, on the other hand, welcomed a baby boy named Landon in November 2018 with ex-girlfriend Kaihla Rettinger, according to US Weekly.  He was, however, engaged to a Jackie Bruno before meeting Lambert.

Sources said that Bruno, who was with the cop for two years, broke it off with McLoughlin when Rettinger told the NYPD cop she was pregnant with his baby. Bruno's mom, Carol, has been telling news outlets that McLoughlin cheated on her daughter.

Bruno was away in Sweden for a professional soccer game, but she was forced to go home due to an injury. Before she left, McLoughlin asked for her hand in marriage, and he denied that he got someone pregnant while his fiancée was abroad.

Carol also said that her daughter is mortified upon learning that McLoughlin is now married to the country singer. She warned Lambert that the guy she married is leading a secret double life and he will likely lie and cheat again.
