BTS’s Jimin is officially the most popular K-pop artist in the world right now. However, the road to this achievement was not easy for him at all.
While it’s hard to comprehend since Jimin is absolutely beautiful inside and out, the BTS star shared his struggles with his looks. And because of this insecurity, Jimin revealed that he wants to be a celebrity (Jimin) and not his real self (Park Jimin) for ARMYs.
“I do not want to be seen as a human being with flaws, ‘Park Jimin.’” he said. “It doesn't mean that I want some distance. It means that I prefer to be a celebrity to them and not show my flaws and weaknesses."
Jimin is a perfectionist and that’s exactly what he wants the fans to see — a perfect man. Although we all know that nobody is perfect, Jimin still aspires to be flawless for the ARMYs.
"Many people like us not because we are perfect but because we have lots of weaknesses too,” he noted. “However, instead of being a 'Park Jimin,' with lots of flaws, I would prefer to remain BTS' 'Jimin' on stage."
Jimin had always been self-conscious. He even shared his envy towards the other BTS members and said that he wanted to look as handsome as them. At one point, Jimin also said that he wants to be that man that everybody wants.
Even though all of his hopes in the past became a reality now, it seems that Jimin is still having a hard time seeing what the fans are seeing when they look at him.
"I hope my fans can be happy about that side of me,” he said. “I hope ARMY could listen to our songs, see our performances and be glad. That's all I hope for. ARMY is the one that lights up BTS' world. I hope that our fans could be happier than we are. That's all I think about when I perform, hoping everyone who came to see us perform can be satisfied and happy about that.”
It’s no secret that BTS loves their fans so much that they don’t want to disappoint them. ARMYs, on the other hand, keep reminding RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook that they love them whole-heartedly, flaws and all.
One fan perfectly summarizes what all ARMYs feel after Jimin shared this sentiment. “I love the Park Jimin in you, Jimin. Never forget that,” they wrote.
