The new year means a lot of things. Some see it as a fresh start, and others see it as an opportunity to be better than the current year. But as for BTS’s J-Hope, the new year is not all rainbows and butterflies for him.

During BTS' mini year-end Q&A session for their fans, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook answered some questions about this year and the upcoming year. The question for J-Hope was: “What will you be doing on January 1, 2020?” He shared something exciting for the fans and for himself, but also revealed one thing that he doesn’t like about the new year.

“This is a given. We will be in New York! So we will probably be feeling New York’s winter during that time,” the BTS star said. “I have high hopes for this because I’ve always had a fantasy to be in New York during the wintertime so I can’t wait to go! But, there is one thing that I don’t like about the New Year. The fact that I become one year older.”

J-Hope is currently 25 years old. While he is still considered to be quite young, BTS began their training during their teenage years, so it is understandable why he may feel like he’s getting old.

Also, he is part of the “Hyung Line” (older members) of BTS, so he may feel a lot of pressure to do extra well, knowing that the younger ones are looking up to him. Or maybe J-Hope is just being a normal person who doesn’t like growing old like the rest of us.

Meanwhile, the other boys also gave some interesting answers. Like V, for example, who wished that it would snow on Christmas (this Q&A was filmed before the holidays) so he could have snowball fights with his members. He noted that he and Jungkook did this when they were trainees, so he probably wanted to experience that fun moment again.

When Jin was asked “What was the worst moment of 2019?” he didn’t have a response to that. Mr. Worlwide Handsome is known for his positivity, which is why it makes a lot of sense that he couldn’t think of the worst moment.

But when he chose another question asking about his happiest moment in 2019, Jin shared not only one, but two happiest moments! “I can choose two of my happiest moments of 2019. One would be going on our world tour and meeting so many of our fans. The second would be filming for Bon Voyage. I had such a great time camping and relaxing with our members,” he said.
