The relationship between Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana was deemed "complicated" and "uneasy" by various royal experts and historians. It was also noted that this dynamic has been common knowledge among the fans and the public.
But, despite the "challenges" of their relationship as in-laws, one royal photographer revealed in a documentary that the Queen and the Princess of Wales shared an intimate and "rare" moment as they "laughed" with each other. As revealed, this even happened in a public engagement many decades ago.
According to Express UK, Kent Gavin, a popular royal photographer back then revealed in the piece titled, Royalty Close Up: The Photography of Kent Gavin, that Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana "shared a laugh" in one event. This was noted as a very "unique" incident given that the two royals were sought as not close with each other.
As claimed, the Queen and Prince Charles' wife arrived in the venue of the event wearing their respective outfits that had the same "shade of blue." It was a "matching outfit," he described.
Although many would consider having matching outfits as a "fashion faux," especially among the royal family, what happened after surprised royal fans and supporters. In fact, it was even described as a "happy" and an unforgettable moment between the two senior royals.
As Queen Elizabeth II walked pass by her firstborn son's wife, she laughed upon seeing her outfit. The same was said to be also true for Princess Diana after witnessing the monarch's outfit, as well as her reaction.
No talked or conversation happened between the two. Nevertheless, their laughter already spoke on behalf of them, Kent Gavin explained. It was further stated that this moment was captured by the royal photographer making the moment much more exceptional.
It is worth noting that Queen Elizabeth II reportedly did not find Princess Diana's style "appealing" and impressive. Aside from wearing fashion pieces that were not in line with the royal family's protocols, it was claimed that the Princess of Wales' character of being a "rebel" was a huge factor.
Whatever the case, though, several individuals have been praising the late princess' style and appearance in general. As per reports, even some of the members of the royal family, including especially Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, have been also following the footsteps of Prince Charles' wife in terms of fashion styles and choices.
