The K-pop world is a very messy place. People judge the idols over anything under the sun. With that said, most K-pop stars are very careful with their words. However, BTS’s V always wanted to stay true to himself and show his real emotions without thinking about other people’s opinions.
One of the perfect examples of V being himself was during Bon Voyage Season 4 Episode 6. The BTS boys were still enjoying another camping day in New Zealand where they had to sleep in the camper van, tent, and even inside the car just like the previous night.
Jin slept in the car and used the heater feature because the weather was too cold for him. Suga and Jimin slept at the tent. RM and V took the bottom bed of the camper van, while J-Hope and Jungkook slept at the upper bunk in the separate corner.
While they were getting ready for bed, V took the chance to share what he realized. “This is the first time we’re sleeping together ever since we debuted,” he told RM. The next words then melted every ARMYs heart. “Can I hold you while I sleep?” he asked the BTS leader.
Since RM is considered to be one of the more serious members of BTS, he was quite unsure how to react to V’s request. Although RM loves his members a lot, holding V while they sleep seemed to be a little too much for him. “That’s going too far. Let’s respect the distance between us,” he said.
But the very persistent V wanted to prove a point why holding each other was necessary. “You do like me, right?” he asked RM. However, the BTS leader was also persistent with his decision. “Of course. (They’re two separate things.) But that’s different from sleeping in each other’s arms,” he said.
As someone who gets a lot of extreme attention from V, J-Hope understands this situation very much and chimed in. “Why? What’s wrong with holding each other?” This side comment gave V the extra push to make his request happen.
Despite his request being refused twice, he tried one more time. “Can I hold your hand, at least?” he carefully asked RM, who was busy using his mobile phone. J-Hope then made the whole scenario a little more fun and giggly said, “What’s this? Are you trying to seduce him?” (Watch the clip here).
Unfortunately for V, it seemed like he didn’t get what he wanted as RM didn’t really say okay. However, they still got to sleep beside each other that night.
