Queen Elizabeth might not be ruling the monarchy in 2020. A prediction emerged that a new king will be ascending the British throne and ruling England this year as the U.K. will also deal with the Brexit crisis.
According to the website Nostradamus 2020, it's unclear how the longest reigning monarch will no longer be sitting at her throne this year. The reason why England will have a new king could be tied to her death but the prediction was not specific.
The site also stated that England will finally leave the European Union in 2020. Brexit will apparently result in an economic collapse and the fall of the United Kingdom as Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be heavily against this decision.
The predictions were based on Nostradamus, the famous 16th century astrologer who foretold many global disasters and catastrophes years before it came true. The website, however, is owned by an engineer named Amber Michaud, whose passion is in astrology and the paranormal.
Another astrologer predicted that 2020 will be a rollercoaster year for the royals. Debbie Frank, who used to read Princess Diana's horoscopes, told The Sun that the planetary influences in the royal household will send a ripple effect.
Queen Elizabeth's Sun will apparently clash with the forceful Saturn and destructive Pluto. Frank said that March might be an especially trying month for Her Majesty as these astrological bodies will come to a head.
Given what she analyzed, the astrologer advised for the Queen to "implement boundaries" to protect the monarchy. Frank also said that Queen Elizabeth should streamline her workload but the astrologer doesn't predict death or abdication unlike the Nostradamus prediction.
It was speculated that Queen Elizabeth might be planning to retire on her 95th birthday in April 2021. Royal biographer Robert Jobson said that the monarch is currently in a period of transition between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, per Vanity Fair.
Jobson said that there have been discussions about Queen Elizabeth handing down her executive powers as monarch to her heir while she will still retain the title. In effect, she will not be abdicating the throne but Prince Charles will be taking over as the regent.
Sources inside Buckingham Palace, however, told Vanity Fair that there are no indications she will be handing down anything over to Prince Charles. Senior aides at the palace denied that there is a transition being set in place this year.
