The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always been present at the Queen's celebration of Christmas at the Sandringham Estate. Along with the rest of the Royal Family, their annual traditions have been continued by the members.

But, the case is different for the family's New Year's Eve. As it appears, it seemed that each royal household has their respective events and gatherings for the said holiday.

In 2012, it was revealed that Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla invited the Cambridge couple to join them in Scotland for the celebration of the last day of the year. However, Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly "snubbed" the Heir Apparent and his second wife.

According to Daily Express, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went instead at the Middletons' home to celebrate the New Year's Eve. It was noted that the duchess' family has their own tradition during the holiday.

Based on claims, all members of her family celebrate the holiday in a "tent" that has been used by "Lapland-based" reindeer herders. For the specific holiday, sources shared that Kate's sister, Pippa hired the said tent from an "upmarket events firm" since she was the one who hosted the party at their parent's garden.

While knowing that Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla were waiting for them, Kate Middleton and Prince William still went on to attend the Middletons' party. It was unclear, though, if the senior royals got mad after the couple's snub.

Also, no confirmations have been made if the Heir Apparent and the Duchess of Cornwall truly gave a weighty invitation to the Cambridges.

In the end, however, this was a rumor that circulated eight years ago. With the current status of the Royal Family, especially the ties between the Cambridges and Prince Charles, as well as, Duchess Camilla, it appears that all is going well.

On another note, Radar Online recently reported that Kate Middleton and Prince William did a similar act toward Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The publication's sources stated that the Duchess of Cambridge spearheaded a New Year's Eve party just a few days ago without inviting the Sussex couple.

It was also claimed that Kate and William invited several members of the Royal Family including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and Mike and Zara Tindall, which made Meghan Markle feel "left out."

While these allegations may seem all true, it was uncovered that Kate Middleton did not host a party for the recent New Year's Eve. Also, it was pointed out that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will never make it, if there ever was a party, as they are currently in Canada with the duchess' mother, Doria Ragland.
