Ailee and BTS have different music labels but, since the latter has collaborated with international artists, it’s enough proof to confirm that RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are open to working with idols outside Big Hit Entertainment. This is good news for Ailee.
The 30-year-old Korean-American singer-songwriter, recently, shared, in an interview with Eric Nam, that she wanted to collaborate with Jimin since his debut. Ailee said that there’s something about the BTS star that made her want to work with him.
“There’s just like something in his voice, the way he sings, that just seduces you,” she said. I’m not saying I’m attracted to him like that, but his voice is so captivating. And the way he sings is just mind-blowing. The way he does all his vocals and falsettos sometimes is just like, ‘Who is this guy!’”
Ailee, then, revealed that she had been a fan of BTS way before they reached their superstardom status today. She said that, when she saw BTS performed, she was instantly impressed with Jimin.
“I actually liked his voice before they blew up in the States,” Ailee said. “When they were still rookies, when they were new, I was like ‘I wanna sing with him’. Like, I saw them performing on a music show and I saw him and I was just like ‘Who is that kid? He is so good. I wanna do a song with him someday.”
The collaboration idea had always been lingering on Ailee’s head. However, when BTS became huge all over the world, that’s when she realized that collaborating with Jimin would be very hard now.
“I was actually looking for songs to sing with him and then they blew up and I was just like ‘Okay,’” she shared.
Ailee is considered to be one of the most powerful singers in K-Pop. So, ARMYs were very happy that she acknowledged Jimin’s talent. “Oh wowwww Ailee aka one of THE BEST vocalists in Korea putting Jimin on a pedestal and praising his vocals like this. I love to see it!!!!” one wrote. “I’m still not over how miss AILEE, literally one of the most impressive and widely regarded Korean vocalists, said she loves Jimin’s voice and she’s been wanting to sing with him since BTS were rookies,” one shared.
BTS is, arguably, one of the most successful groups in history. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have broken records after records and their humble beginnings have been an inspiration to their fans and fellow idols as well.
